Bryant said, he has yet to have a conversation with Cummings about his announcement.
Bryant, 44, is the Senior pastor of the Empowerment Temple in Northwest Baltimore and spoke before a small crowd this morning. The Belle Report quotes Bryant as saying, “I represent a new generation that’s coming forward — this whole movement of activists that are emerging nationwide.”
Bryant also talked about the recent unrest in Baltimore, the shortcomings in the city’s school system, the middle class and police brutality stating that in too many instances, the police are “out of control.”
Jamal Bryant recently came under fire after playing a key role in letting Muslim leader Minister Louis Farrakhan express his religious views on the Christian station The Word Network.
